Larger air tools require a greater volume of compressed air for correct operation. They must have sufficient capacity to maintain the volume and pressure. Please check the pressure requiements of your intended tool before you select the compressor you aim to purchase.
As air motors operate at extremely high speed, it is vital that it be supplied with adequate and correct lubrication. Do not, under any circumstances, use oil which is not approved or recommended for air tool use. The use of the incorrect type of oil causes friction stress in the rotor. Air machines do not require a lot of oil. They operate well with the oil mist equivalent to just one drop every minute of working time. We suggest that you use a non-restrictive airline oiler, preferably at the manifold hose take off point, especially for heavy duty use. You cannot use oilers and oiled hoses with spray gun attachments, as the resultant mixture of oil and paint is not suitable for painting.
Air hoses from the manifold should be as short as possible, without restricting your comfort and convenience. Excessively long hoses can reduce volumetric pressure. Also consider that your regulator gauge indicates the required pressure, but may not be an accurate measure of the pressure available to the air motor. Hoses, fittings and supply (manifold) lines with too small an internal diameter will restrict the airflow. If this flow is unavailable, the air motor's pressure will decrease. Flow restrictions can cause considerable pressure reduction and will drastically reduce the work output.
Many people overlook the importance of atmospheric moisture (which condenses from the compressed air) away from the air tool. An efficient water separator of sufficient size to handle the airflow is strongly recommended, as is regular draining of the compressor receiver.
Under all circumstances try to protect the machine against the intake of grit, metal filings, and other particles through the air inlet when disconnected from the air hose.
Damage caused by incorrect lubrication, particle buildup or water damage is not covered under the terms of any warranty, regardless of the age of the product.
